Ariadne

The design of this egg reminds us of the "Ariadne's Thread" stone from the "World Heritage" collection. But here the idea is broader and deeper. Let's begin at the bottom. A small platform at the very bottom signifies the pre-primordial state of Space—where it all began and how it will all end in this cycle of evolution. Next comes an ornament with a floral motif: in each of the twelve sectors, one can discern a root, a stem, and a flower, denoted by the upper arch. This symbolizes the development of life in nature, up to and including the vegetative stage. Next comes a wide band with an ornament in the form of a double meander—the flow of Water and Fire with their mutual penetration, a symbol of the evolution of the Elements. Finally, having passed through this, we approach the evolution of the mind, represented by the Labyrinth. These are the trials our spirit undergoes on the path of its development. From this meaning comes the name of the stone—Ariadne, the great creative Force that guides us to the summit, the highest point of the stone, which coincides with the center of the Labyrinth...

Beyond its design, the stone is also remarkable because, as far as we know, it is the only stone in the world to have been twice included in the Guinness Book of World Records – as the largest and most faceted peridot in the world. It weighs 769 carats and has 1,824 facets.
