Knot of Eternity
This was one of the first stones to employ the technique of using matte facets alongside polished ones. In a sense, it was an exception to my rule. When creating images and symbols on stones, I try to remember the stone's primary purpose—to reflect and refract light, revealing its beauty.
Simply put, the primary goal is to reveal the stone's natural beauty. If it can be imbued with meaning or an idea, that should be secondary. Therefore, the total area of matte facets should typically cover no more than 5-7 percent of the total surface area, so as not to interfere with the play of light. I believe this stone has achieved a balance between meaning and beauty.
