Star of Russia
The idea for this stone was born while working on the World Heritage project. When the design for the Great Heart stone, dedicated to Russia, was being created, I paid particular attention to its pavilion. It depicted the Star of Inglia, formed by three regular triangles. This is an ancient Slavic symbol, descended from pre-Christian Rus', and signifying not simply the Trinity, but three Trinitys—the Primordial, the Manifested, and the Creative—that is, the Triune Deity in its three stages of manifestation.
A nine-pointed star with sharp rays was added to the center, inscribed within the central nonagon of the Star of Inglia. This star symbolizes creative potential, the vital force that drives the Trinity to its manifestation and evolution, emphasized by the matte edges extending from the ends of the rays of the inner star to the ends of the rays of the outer, larger star—but only in one direction, indicating the direction of movement. At the same time, each ray consists of two halves—matte and polished, black and white, demonstrating the duality of this potential in its spiritual and material aspects.
I had never encountered this profound symbol anywhere before, and it was a great joy to reveal it to the world.
