Circle of Samsara

Chronologically, this was the first stone to inaugurate the "Philosopher's Stone" series. Created in 2007, inspired by Buddhist philosophy, it was gifted to the Tibetan teacher Ayang Rinpoche.

The stone's spike symbolizes the starting point of evolution; the point from which the Universe began to unfold. ("From the Unified Center, the Energies, newly awakened, rushed into space...") From this point, from the center, five rays emanate, united in their duality—the five Elements, the five Primordial Elements, each in two aspects: male and female, spiritual and material. Earth, Water, Air, Fire, Ether—they form the five points where Humanity emerges.

Each of these points radiates 12 rays. In Buddhism, these are the 12 Nidanas, or great Causes of Suffering, which lead a person into the circle of Samsara—the cycle of reincarnation. In the Tibetan zodiac, this is reflected by twelve animals (hare, snake, dragon, goat, etc.) and five colors (white, yellow, red, blue, black). It is this circle of Samsara that is depicted in the stone by the 60 facets of the girdle, corresponding to the 60 years of the full cycle of the Tibetan calendar.

Now let's move from the circle of Samsara up the path of evolution—to the crown of the stone. We see groups of ten rays emerging from this circle and gathering at six points. These six points represent the six worlds or six possibilities of rebirth (the worlds of gods, demons, humans, animals, spirits, and hellish beings), and the ten rays for each represent the ten virtuous and unvirtuous deeds, which roughly correspond to the Ten Commandments of Christianity and are the causes a person creates on earth, which will then manifest their consequences in the corresponding world of rebirth. Finally, from each of these six points emanate seven rays, signifying the "Seven Gates" or seven paths to Bliss, which lead our consciousness to the pure nature of mind, corresponding to the enlightened state of Buddhahood (the platform of the stone).

The tabletop follows the shape of the girdle's circumference, but lacks internal facets, as those who have achieved this state already exist in eternity and have the right to choose the time and place of their birth, coming into this world solely out of compassion to help other living beings. I'll also add that the tabletop's diameter is related to the stone's diameter according to the principle of the "golden ratio," reflecting the complete harmony between the Universe itself and the enlightened consciousness that contains it—the pinnacle of our world's evolution.

I will only add that the total number of faces – 244 – in the sum of the numbers gives 10, or 1 and 0, Spirit and Matter in their unity, the perfect Decade, containing everything... But that is another story.
