Taste of the Depth (Water)

Bluish-green topaz, 232.3 carats.

We don't notice the taste of water.

Our eyes don't distinguish individual colors in synthetic sunlight. Can the sparkle of a dewdrop or the depth of the ocean be broken down into flavor components? The saltiness of experience, the spicy sharpness of memories, the bitterness of partings, and the sweetness of mystery? Is the vividness of perception of individual components always lost as we approach synthesis?

Remember the taste of the Depth. Don't miss the specific while thinking about the general.

It's no coincidence that the stone was given the name "Taste of Depth." Its meaning is perhaps the most profound and intimate of all the stones in this collection. At first glance, it seems simple—it's shaped like a drop of water. But if we look closely at the pavilion's design, we see an image of an unopened lotus bud, surrounded by rays and with a shining star within. This speaks to the cradle of Life—the great Waters of Space, a symbol of the material aspect of the Universe, preserving the potential of all existence, just as an unopened bud preserves the potential of a beautiful flower.
