About the Energy of Cut Stones

Date of publication: August 24, 2011

Let's talk about the energy of stones. I'll immediately point out that until precise science learns to detect subtle-material influences, it's unlikely anyone will be able to confirm or refute my reasoning, which means they have just as much right to be believed as any other opinion.

Let us first accept some statements without proof.

  1. There is no dead matter in the Universe. Every object is a form of life, by which we understand the presence of internal movement and the ability to evolve, that is, to change. The atoms and molecules of minerals also oscillate within the crystal structure, although not as actively as particles move in liquid or gaseous environments. The predominance of one environment or another in a living organism determines the speed of metabolic processes, and therefore the duration of the life cycle. If a solid environment predominates in minerals (the Earth Element), then the cycle of growth and death of a stone is measured in millions of years. In the bodies of trees there is more liquid (the Water Element), and they live less – centuries. In animals and humans, there is much more of the Water Element, and their lifespan is even shorter. In addition, they also contain gas – the Air Element. And when living beings with a predominance of even finer environments – Air and Fire – are discovered, we will see that they live even shorter lives.
  2. Energy is an integral attribute of living matter. It is therefore logical to assume the existence of both known and currently unknown types of energy – electrical, magnetic, thermal, biological, psychic, mental, and others. For simplicity, let us assume that there is a single Unified Energy at the core, and all varieties are merely its numerous manifestations and differentiations on different planes, from the physical to the more subtle ones – up to the highest spiritual levels.
  3. All living matter is involved in energy exchange processes. In other words, any form of life is capable of receiving, accumulating, storing, and releasing the Unified Energy in its various manifestations. And the less active the structural components of this form of life (let's call them atoms), the more stable the structure itself, the longer it is able to retain subtle types of energy – for example, psychic or mental energy.

Based on these statements, it can be said that the concept of the impact of stones can be reduced to energy exchange processes between the stone and the person.

To understand what we receive from a stone, let's try to understand what it accumulates. Firstly, a stone possesses its own energy, inherent to it, so to speak, from birth – due to the organization of its atomic structure. Secondly, the stone accumulates the energy of various Elements – Earth, Water, Air, and Fire, "interacting" with them throughout its life. Thirdly, it receives layers of subtle energies from more highly organized sources capable of generating these energies, including animals and humans.

We are hardly interested in the "inherent" energy component of a stone. Since it is the lowest organized form of life, its energy lies in the range of the coarsest vibrations, acting on a sensitive element vibrating in the same range. This is the mineral component of our body – salts and trace elements dissolved in the blood and tissues. More interesting is the effect of "acquired" energies of the Elements – they directly interact with the corresponding Elements of the human body. This is the sphere of work for astrologers, since horoscopes help to understand which Element predominates in a person, based on the time and place of their birth. Moreover, there are directly opposite opinions. Some advise wearing stones of "their" Element, others – of the one that is lacking. I will leave the choice to the reader, only saying how to determine the Element of a stone. It is clear that a mineral crystal "more readily" accepts the energy of the Element whose crystal is closer to it in structure. For example, a diamond in nature often crystallizes in the form of an octahedron, which means that the organization of its atomic structure allows it to better accumulate the energy of Air, whose crystal is also an octahedron. As for whether people of "air" or "fire" signs (according to Feng Shui, Air fuels Fire) should prefer this stone – we will leave that for them to decide [1].

Even more interesting is the effect of "acquired" energy from subtle planes – psychic, mental, and spiritual. These manifestations of the Unified Energy, being the most elusive, are also the most powerful in their consequences, as they can influence the flow of events. So-called cursed places are known, where mass murders or torture of people have occurred. Now, the mechanism of this phenomenon can be explained. During suffering, especially during murders, there is a sharp release of psychic energy due to strong negative emotions – fear, despair, hatred, etc. This energy settles on surrounding objects, dissolves in water, and saturates the earth. And, while air and water molecules, due to their mobility, quickly disperse among other "healthy" molecules, the energy absorbed by the earth has nowhere to go. Having accumulated such negative "baggage," the mineral structures themselves begin to radiate in this range. A dense forest that evokes feelings of fear becomes all the more frightening the more people experience that fear.

And vice versa. How do miraculous icons appear? Why do objects that have been in the hands of holy ascetics (and especially those made by them) have a beneficial effect? Because spiritual energy is layered upon them, so pure and high that it lasts for a long time. This is how talismans and amulets are created, but also how curses arise. I repeat again – the power of this influence is immeasurably greater than the energy of the Elements absorbed by the stone, and even more so than its own energy. Therefore, when choosing a stone, it is much more important to find out its history – where it came from, who processed it, and how it came to you.

Alas! The more expensive and desirable a stone is, the greater the likelihood of receiving a very unpleasant "package" along with it. Most precious stones are mined in underdeveloped countries, and the mining is accompanied by cruelty, hunger, disease, fear, hatred, and envy – towards those for whom all this is mined. That is, towards you, dear readers. And when the stone is finally free, its new journey begins, full of adventures. And it's no accident that stones are considered precious! They possess the most stable structure of everything on earth, especially a crystalline structure. This means that they are unparalleled in their ability to accumulate subtle energies. It is no coincidence that in the past they were used to adorn objects of worship – icons, church utensils, sacred books. This is how the negative energy of the stones was removed and positive energy was layered upon them – during services and prayers.

Such purification is also possible now, and not only through prayer. There are rare cases when stones fall into the hands of skilled craftsmen – inspired enthusiasts of their craft. And the energy of joyful, creative work is one of the strongest, especially since its object is the stone itself, and the stone itself is transformed, striving for perfection. Unfortunately, there are not many such truly precious stones – far fewer than just sapphires or diamonds. And so far, few people understand their true value. Try to observe how many coincidences have increased in your life after you received the stone? Good luck or bad luck? This way you can understand how strong the love of a loved one is who gave you this sparkling beauty. The probability of error will be less if the stone is inexpensive, preferably synthetic, without accumulations of negative energy.

Speaking of synthetic stones, I think we unfairly neglect them. Being essentially identical to natural stones, having the same structure, chemical composition, and physical properties, they undoubtedly have the advantage of being free from negative energy (and sometimes residual radiation). On the contrary, being a product of human creativity, they initially carry a positive potential. Due of the absence of impurities, they perform their role as an optical instrument and accumulator of positive energy better. Finally, among synthetic stones there are some that have no analogues in nature, such as fianite and moissanite. The latter was often used as a diamond imitation, but can something that surpasses the original be called an imitation? While only slightly less hard than a diamond, moissanite surpasses it in all optical characteristics. Of course, for market success, it's also important to name the stone correctly. If Cubic Zirconia is immeasurably less popular than Swarovski Zirconia, it's solely because of the name, because in fact they are one and the same.

So, to summarize. The effect of faceted stones on a person boils down to three main components – their own energy and the energy acquired from the Elements and from other people. In terms of significance and degree of impact, the third component is the strongest, followed by the second, while the first can generally be disregarded.

It's also worth mentioning special stones – works of art. Such stones do exist. You won't find them in jewelry stores. You won't see them among the piles of faceted inserts offered by artisan gem cutters. Only occasionally, in a modest corner of some exhibition, will your gaze be drawn to a few masterpieces, lovingly placed in individual boxes on an almost empty display case. They are not sold wholesale. They are always unique pieces, often made in a single copy. You can recognize them by the feeling they evoke – once you hold such a stone in your hand, you won't want to part with it. Don't part with it! If you feel love for it, don't doubt that it will reciprocate. Don't regret the money spent; it's merely a sign of gratitude, an offering to God in the person who found you a new friend – a loyal, constant, and selfless one.

[1] Unfortunately, it's not that simple. A diamond grows not only in the form of an octahedron, but also a cube, a triangle, and even a rhombic dodecahedron, in addition to transitional forms, which means it can be associated with the Elements of Earth, Fire, and the all-pervading Ether. Therefore, only a diamond cutter who saw the stone before processing can say exactly which Element a particular diamond represents. The same applies to some other stones.
